Vehicle release

How to get your vehicle back.

If Mr. C's Towing has your vehicle, start with dispatch. They will confirm the yard and tell you what the releasing agency requires.

The procedure

Call first. Bring the right paperwork. Pay at the yard.

The release is completed at the storage yard, not over the phone.

  1. 01

    Call dispatch

Confirm the vehicle, the yard, and any special release required by the police department.

  2. 02

    Bring identification and the registration

A valid driver's license and the vehicle registration, if it is not in the vehicle.

  3. 03

    Bring the keys and payment

Cash, debit, or credit. No checks are accepted.

  4. 04

If you are not the owner

Bring a completed release authorization form from the registered owner.

What to bring

The counter checklist.

Please understand we cannot release a vehicle unless these conditions are completely met.

  • Your valid driver's license
  • Your vehicle registration, if it is not in the vehicle
  • Your keys
  • Cash, debit, or credit card. No checks, no exceptions.
  • A completed release authorization form if you are not the registered owner

If the vehicle was towed by police order, the agency may require additional authorization before the yard can release it.

If the vehicle is gone

Call the police first.

If you went to where you parked and the car is gone, call the police department for that area first.

If the vehicle was towed, the department will know. Mr. C's Towing does not drive around looking for cars to tow; a tow is ordered by a police department, a property owner, or the vehicle's owner.

Forms and notices

Release authorization, in writing.

If someone else is collecting the vehicle, the registered owner must complete a release authorization form.

Forms are available at either office. The signed original comes to the yard with the person collecting the vehicle. The same counter handles release questions, storage notices, and auction information.

Auction rules

Before you drive

Call dispatch and confirm the yard.

Tow charges and storage fees are set by the state, city, and police department, not negotiated at the counter.

Open 24 hours, every day.

Request a tow

Tell dispatch how to reach you. This preview does not send the form; for a tow now, call (323) 249-0575.
